According the US Postal Service, approximately 18,000 deliveries in Louisville have been delayed due to weather and poor road conditions. Citing car accidents and slipping accidents, one landed a postal carrier in the hospital, USPS says delays may still be possible. According the USPS, even if your road is clear, the route used to get to you may not be clear, which will result in delays for your mail being delivered.
Postal carriers are attempting deliveries, but if the road is deemed unsafe, they will not deliver. If you want your mail before delivery resumes, you can go to the USPS website and put a hold on your mail. As long as you place the hold by 2:00 AM, you can pick up your mail at your local post office the next day. Please note that you can only place a hold on your mail once every 30 days.
