The Metro Council’s Public Safety Committee will be updated by Louisville Metro Police Chief Steve Conrad on the recently conducted staffing study of personnel in the department.

“As we continue to see a rise in violent crime, I have asked the Chief to come and update us on how the staffing study discussions and recommendations have proceeded,” says Councilman David Yates (D-25), who chairs the Committee. “I know some concerns have been raised about reorganizing the special VIPER Unit and I would like the Chief to give us his plan on moving forward with what is being changed and how we will utilize officers in general throughout Metro Louisville.”

The Public Safety Committee will meet at 3:30pm in Council Chambers, 601 West Jefferson Street.

All Council meetings are carried live on Metro TV, Time Warner Cable Channel 25. You can also watch the meetings online by going to the Metro Council home page at http://louisvilleky.gov/government/metro-council/metro-council-clerk   and click the “Watch Meetings Online” button.
