Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Dixie Highway Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A Fans Await Opportunity to Score Free Food for a Year

chick-fil-aCouncilman Rick Blackwell (D-12) joined Nicklies Development and excited business and community leaders for the Groundbreaking at the new Chick-fil-A Restaurant at Dixie Highway in District 12.

“I am thrilled to welcome Chick-fil-A to our Southwest community,” said Councilman Rick Blackwell. “For many years, I have heard requests for a Chick-fil-A and I know that my constituents are excited to patronize this new restaurant.”

This new stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurant at 6630 Dixie Highway is projected to open in January 2016 and will be the first on Dixie Highway. The design will feature an upgraded interior and kitchen décor that will add to the overall remarkable experience for the customer. Ryan Fitzgerald, the franchise owner and operator, estimates that he plans to hire 80 people when the restaurant opens.

“We have such great momentum happening on Dixie Highway with the Dixie Highway Masterplan State funding of $11.5 million and the recent announcement of $16.9 million from the federal T.I.G.E.R grant program,” said Councilman Blackwell. “Developments like this certainly contribute to that excitement and I am thankful to Nicklies Development and Chick-fil-A for their investment and commitment to our Southwest community.”

Chick-fil-A will celebrate the grand opening of the new Dixie Hwy restaurant by giving away a one-year supply of free Chick-fil-A meals (52 meals) to the first 100 adults in line on opening day. The “First 100” celebration draws Chick-fil-A’s most loyal fans who arrive up to 24 hours in advance with tents, TVs, computers, gaming systems and other gear to pass the time while camping out overnight.
