Suspect In Car Accident Might Be Illegal

Jeffersontown Police announced today that they believe Juan Carlos Ortega-Santos is an illegal immigrant. Earlier today, Ortega-Santos entered a plea of not guilty in the deaths of two minors Tuesday night.  According Jeffersontown Police Chief, Ken Hatmaker, believes Ortega-Santos is a flight risk and that federal authorities have placed a detainer on him.

Ortega-Santos was employed at Wild Eggs and the restaurant released a statement saying that the Ortega-Santos had all of the proper documentation when he was hired.

Ortega-Santos is being charged with murder, driving under the influence, assault, wanton endangerment, driving without a license, and failure to have insurance after hitting two pedestrians.
