Clifton CenterThe Clifton Center has partnered with Old National Bank and Strothman and Company to offer complimentary tickets for local students to attend select concerts that are part of the Center’s 2015-2016 Louisville Heritage Project. Students from 1st grade through college are invited to enjoy and discover musical and cultural traditions from different regions of the world and the U.S., from Latin America to Appalachia. In addition to free admittance to select concerts, participating students will receive a passport that will get stamped at each concert they attend, giving them a chance to earn a Clifton Center T-shirt.

Free tickets are available for the following concerts (more will be added, visit cliftoncenter.org for updates to the season):

Hot Rize – Friday, September 18
Cumbia All Stars and Trio Brasileiro – Sunday, September 27
Roland Dyens – Thursday, October 1
Dave Liebman – Wednesday, October 21
Eric Bibb and Corey Harris – Thursday, February 4
Dom Flemons – Thursday, March 3

To reserve free students tickets, visit www.CliftonCenter.org and use the promotional code: PASSPORT when checking out. Student status will be verified at Will Call when picking up tickets, and college students must present a valid ID. Students will receive their Passport at the first concert they attend. Tickets also available at the door, based on availability.

The Clifton Center also receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, Louisville Metro Government, Music Go Round, West Sixth Street Brewing Company, DD Williamson, Republic Bank, Carmichael’s Bookstore, 91.9 WFPK, and the Friends of the Clifton Center. The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, also provides operating support to the Clifton Center with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Clifton CenterThe Clifton Center, 2117 Payne Street, will host a 70th birthday celebration for one of Louisville’s greatest musical treasures, Dick Sisto, onThursday, April 2nd at 7:30pm. Dick will play vibraphone and piano, and he will be joined by his “Two for the Road” partner, bassist Jeremy Allen. The audience will join the musicians on stage in the Clifton Center’s Eifler Theater to enjoy the concert and salute the local musical legend. Tickets are $10 and are available at Carmichael’s Bookstore, 2720 Frankfort Avenue, or online at cliftoncenter.org.

Dick Sisto has been performing original music, as well as the great compositions of iconic jazz musicians including Coltrane, Ellington, Bill Evans, Miles Davis etc., in concert halls, jazz clubs, churches and cathedrals around the region for the many years. His resume includes performances and recordings with Buddy Rich, Kenny Werner, Rufus Reid, Kenny Wheeler, Bobby Broom, Eddie Gomez, Benny Golson, Lee Konitz and many others.

ABOUT THE CLIFTON CENTER
The Clifton Center, located at 2117 Payne Street, is an historic facility that serves as a gathering place for art, culture and ideas that enrich our community. Housed in a renovated former school building, the Center is home to the studios of artists Martin Rollins and Lucretia Beatty, the Ballet Arts and Yuric-Amari Dance studios, the Louisville Visual Art Association’s LVAA @ the Clifton Center art education studio, a UofL off-campus classroom, and the administrative offices of the Colon Cancer Prevention Project.

In addition to Mini of Louisville Live at the Clifton Center events, the Clifton Center hosts hundreds of events each year in its role as a rental facility including weddings, conferences, business meetings, art shows and receptions.
